Who We Are
The HMHF Festival Association
The High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival Board and volunteers are thrilled to invite you to this annual event in the heart of the Wet Mountain Valley of south, central Colorado.
The stunning views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the friendly town of Westcliffe provide a magnificent backdrop for the Festival, but it is four days of nationally-renown bluegrass performers that sets this Festival apart.
In 2015-16, the Festival Board of Directors, in conjunction with the Wet Mountain Valley Community Foundation, conceived the High Mountain Hay Fever Children’s Health Fund and donated $30,000 as its first contributor. After the Festival in 2016, an additional $20,000 was donated to the Fund along with $1,190 in tips from the Beer/Wine tent.
High Mountain Hay Fever 2017 was another great success with close to 4,000 fans attending. After the 2017 Festival, the Association donated $40,000 and $1,471 from tips collected in the Beer/Wine tent. Additionally, $5,000 was donated to the Custer County Emergency Medical Service (EMS).
WESTCLIFFE / SILVER CLIFF, CO. (September 30, 2022) – High Mountain Hay Fever Festival Association, sponsors of the annual High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival (HMHF), is distributing a record $75,000 in support of children’s health needs. Over its nineteen years, the festival has donated $800,000 to Custer County charitable organizations.
The High Mountain Hay Fever Festival Association is a non-profit organization run by an incredible group of volunteers working year round. Lou Reid, a 3-time HMHF performer says, “High Mountain Hay Fever is a great, first-class festival, both in the past and present.” The organization intends to avoid the sprawl and congestion of large festivals while offering nationally recognized bluegrass talent and remaining true to its motto: Small Scale—Big Time.
